My work concerns performance with themes related to the boundaries of what is comfortable and uncomfortable. It uses elements of touch, voice, words and objects. In my recent videos I have gravitated towards acting as objects and materials which follow a series of instructions to create a final object. For example, I take the elements behind a routine, such as brushing one’s teeth, and act as the elements (toothbrush, toothpaste, mouthwash, etc.) which is also distinguished by costume changes and sound. Eerie and weird music is also a key part of my videos to create an ominous, questionable and sometimes awkward atmosphere. Overall, I discover what individuals continue to find uncomfortable as a direct resource, to stimulate a mixture of comfortable and uncomfortable responses from the viewer.
