Carmen Okome is a mixed-ethnicity artist/activist, who uses the mediums of sound, photography in installations. She aims to poke fun at exclusionary art traditions and art history whilst engaging marginalised voices in discussions around culture, identity and femininity. In addition to he artistic practice, she is also one half of the collective ‘Boxcheckerz’ leading the student decolonisation programme ‘Buyers Remorse’ at the University of Leeds.
